Luxe Eye Edition Shadow & Long Wear Gel Eyeliner Palette
I spent days debating if I should purchase the Bobbi Brown Luxe Eye Edition Shadow & Long Wear Gel Eyeliner Palette or Bobbi Brown's University Eye Palette. I purchased their University Lip Palette (not currently available) which I keep in my kit because it flatters every skin tone, its texture is gorgeous, long lasting and it's extremely compact. I chose the Luxe Edition because (online) its shadows looked more versatile where as the University Eye Palette looked like it was made to create smokey eyes.
It's shadows are gorgeous, well pigmented, long lasting, extremely flattering and easy to blend. It's packaging is massive. I could never carry this on set in a kit bag. Even if you're headed on vacation for leisure this is extremely bulky considering the amount of product held inside. This palette would look beautiful on a vanity which is maybe why they named it "Luxe". It's design would help prevent the shadows from breaking but I'm tempted to return it and see if I can purchase the colours I like most (Sable, Malted and Beige Linen) individually.
The shadows are gorgeous. They put other leading brands to shame and go on so beautifully even a complete novice could doll themselves into perfection. The gel liners stay put even when applied on someone with a hooded lid. Yet they don't feel drying on the skin, once they've set. A nice departure from what I'm used to feeling when using Pro Longwear Fluidline, a great product that unfortunately doesn't have much playtime. The Gel Eyeliner pots are relatively small but the product is so pigmented that you need next to no product on your brush I prefer to use the Real Techniques Bold Metals 202 Angled Liner Brush to achieve a beautifully defined eye, instead of the brush that is included.
The Bronze Shimmer Ink is fantastic on blue eyes but all three liners are universally flattering. I would recommend buying this palette for two types of women. A slightly more mature lady who appreciates beautiful products, enjoys dressing up and trying new looks but doesn't lead a hectic lifestyle. Or a woman who wouldn't (under any circumstance) toss this in her purse but use this as her palette for "special occasions only".
